Go Healthy is an IOS app that offers personalized blood sugar measurement and healthy lifestyle plans.
OVERVIEW
Go Healthy Mobile App designed to help people living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle with ease. This app provides the functionality of calculating the blood sugar value and providing personalized fitness & diet plan based on the result.

PROBLEM
During our initial research we found out that most apps don’t have the ability to calculate the exact blood sugar and they are not engaging or easy to use. Some other apps have no capacity to alter a customized plan that empower wellness and nutrition.
Some of the pain points that we identify in other apps are as follows: Difficult onboarding procedure, no guidance after first signup. Constraint user to perform certain actions where its not necessary. Showing plenty of data in one screen that causes confusion. Using inappropriate elements with the meaning.
THE SOLUTION
We added personalized fitness & meal plans based on the blood sugar value calculated by our app on the home page. If a patient or any person has a high blood sugar value then our plan displays customized plans according to the high B.S values. If there is low blood sugar value then our app will show fitness and diet plans based on low B.S values.
The data that has been collected and displayed on the fitness or meal screen was based on the study and research covering the aspects of what is appropriate for High value or low value. The flexibility of editing the personalized diet has also been given to the user in the diet plan. We also added the reward system in fitness to keep our users motivated.
USER FLOW
Before getting into the usability test, we created the ideal flow of how a user should go through the app. This would give us an idea if any pain-points going to bring up during our usability test.
USER TESTING
To conduct an in-depth usability test with new users we recruited 5 users of different age group facing blood sugar problem.
Quantitative Data
Pre-Test Survey
Using the pre-test survey we were able to create a demographic overview of all of the participants included in our initial round of testing.

Qualitative Data
Usability Testing – Think Aloud Protocol
We used the usability testing and followed think aloud protocol.
We follow the traditional approach where participants can speak during the task performance.
We as a observer used the active intervention method in which we intervene if the participants get confused.
Post Test – System Usability Scale (SUS)
From the responses we got from the users, we observe that most of them are of UI related tweaks. Functionality wise our users found it easy to follow along and complete task.
After usability testing we made improvements in our design. We made changes in our certain approaches that we observe our users found it difficult to use during usability testing. On the right side we discuss one of the major changes we did in our home page.
Other improvements are as follows: Add New Entry Screen, Get plan approach (we added the tour guide), Setting page (we change it according to the IOS guidelines and it looks more clean and simple).
Scenario-Based Tasks Observations
After Usability testing we found out that participants were not focusing on the measurement wheel on home page. -from all 5 participants
Some participants didn’t like the card format for the quick access. After few observations, we discovered the users were not clicking it and taking it as a info cards. So we changed the card styles into the different format to make it more clickable. -from 3 participants
Some participants provided feedback about swiping of the cards. They found it difficult to swipe and scrolling home screen downwards at the same time. We made changes and implemented the scrollable approach. -from 3 participants
IMPROVEMENTS AFTER USABILITY TESTING
After conducting the usability test on low-fi and clickable prototypes various improvements have been made.

In our future release we will work on fitness and meal tracking in real time.We will implement the consult your doctor functionality. User will also have the option to consult a life coach. We thought of incorporating the AI based Chatbot answering the FAQ’s
